Dreams
Sunday, 20 January 2008
Do you have dreams? Do you dare to dream?
People tell me not to dream because I have to be realistic.
BU**S****!

Those people who told me these because they themselves do not have dreams or should I put it more bluntly, they have no courage to dream. Failure(s) and disappointment and discouragement, have kill off their ability to dream. Dream is powerful. It motivates us, keep us moving when we feel like giving up.

In primary school, we have many dreams. Be a lawyer, architect, policeman, teacher..etc. We excitedly told our parents and what's next? They tell us "stop dreaming and study hard". Sooner or later, we forget to dream and simply study harder. When you are ready to step into the society to work, full of the youthful energy, you dream of big cars, fat wallet, retire at the age of 40, millionaire..etc, then they say "stop dreaming and work hard". Years of stressful work gradually drain our energy. By then you have a family, all you ever thought of is giving your family a good life or a survivor life. In any case, life becomes hard. On your death bed, you start to recall on your achievements or rather the lack of. One word to describe your life: meaningless.

Youth is priceless. Full of energy, full of dreams! And any failures would almost cost you nothing short of death. Why dont you dream!!!!!??? People said "I have dreams but.." BUT WHAT? "I have to take care of my sickly parent". No one is telling you to forsake your parents. More importantly, are you doing anything that make you a step closer to your dreams?? They commented that it is being selfish for wanting to achieve your own dreams. Think again, why should you fulfil other people's dreams? And who is/are going to fulfill your dreams? If you work for people, you are realising their dreams and moving further away from yours. You get NOTHING in the end.

Then what on earth am I here for?
We have different reasons. Personally, I am here to glorify God. I have dreams because God created me to be creative and imaginative. I have the ability to dream because God do dream! He want us to be closer to him.

Dreams are not (building) castles in the air. Dreams are (building) castles in the air with foundation =)
