on a emotions rollar-coaster ride Tuesday, 28 July 2009
I really admire those couples who just confessed to each other and got together.
This is my first time making a confession to a guy. Then it turned out to be kinda mutual. After the confession, there is still a 'but'. Apparently, it is distance.
This is sad, isnt it?
What yy said is true i guessed. If the person did not take initial step he does not deserve you.
k. Dun worry about me. It is part of growing up.

Pre-commencement syndrome Tuesday, 7 July 2009
Finally.. graduating. Tmr is the commencement and of all time, 10am. For some unknown reason, I felt sian about this. Ask me a week ago, I would be jumping around, trying out the graduation robe like trying out a new Celia Loe dress. But today... it is just sian...
PCS? hopefully..
It is what i wanted when I came over to singapore to study. So ...
Yun Tong and I had a totally satisfying Crab buffet on Wednesday night. The moment we stepped into the dining place, the rich aroma of crabs flows into our nostrils and empyting our stomachs. Just forget your apetitizer, you dont need it when you see what lies before your sparkling eyes. The dishes are spread luxuriously across 4 different areas in the dining place, with the view of Singapore River as the backdrop. Giving you the total ambience to just dine...
Lets get into serious business.
There are Chilli Flower Crab, Black Pepper Crab, Nonya Curry Crab, Sri Lankan Chilli Crab, Fragrant Thai Sauce Crab, Nonya Crab Popiah, Shark Fin Soup with Crab Meat, Crab Risotto, Crab fried rice, Black Pepper Lobster Before this, I am an ardent fan of Black Pepper Crab. Now, I am a convert of Nonya Curry Crab with roasted/toasted man dou, and Fragrant Thai Sauce Crab. Cooked in rich sauces, every bite of the meat just spells "heavenly"...
On top of these, there are FRESH sashimi, oysters and prawns. Savour them with little sauces/seasonings. Your delicate taste buds will be bathing themselves in the sweetness of fresh seafood.
Oysters: Add a little Tabasco and a bit of lemon juice. Prawns: Shell and dip a little with soy sauce (you dont want to spoil the sweetness do you?) Sashimi: just eat
Drooling?
Of course, not forgetting the desserts. New York Cheese Cakes, Green Tea Cheese Cakes, Mango Pudding, Peppermint Chocolate ice cream, Raspberry ice cream, fruits, Durian paste or something, Chocolate fondue,Chinese desserts delicacies.
There is no wonder that we ate for 3h.. Totally satisfying...awww..
Price: $46 exclusive of GST and service. Location: Swissotel Merchant Court, beside Clarke Quay MRT Station
Similar to hotel buffets, please call 6239 1848 to book. This Crab Temptations buffet is available until 12 July 2009.
The video screened below is a MTV of a song, Nobody by a Korean pop-group Wonder Girls. FYI: the dance is quite popular in dance schools as many (adult) females are requesting to learn this.
and in this video, using the MTV of Nobody, Mr Brown and his gang changed the lyrics. yes.. Mr Brown the funny man. Enjoy!

down with flu Friday, 29 May 2009
I am down with flu since tuesday.. sad. But still had my driving lesson on wednesday.
Being a responsible citizen, I self-quarantined after my lesson and thursday. Couldnt take it anymore, I went for another driving lesson today. And I found out that my instructor is having some symptoms of cold/flu.. oh huh. Pray hard that he will not fall sick.
Today I learnt about changing gears gently (hahha.. instructor commented I am violent towards the gear level), driving on slopes and stopping/moving off them. My car almost stalled because I depressed the brake a bit too hard (kinda kiasi that the car might roll back). Luckily, the instructor remainded me and I managed to depress the clutch. ~phew.. In short when you about to stop your car: Release the accelerator, depress the brake gently i.e. intermittent braking and depress the clutch, allow the car to cruise a bit and then depress the brake gently.
Room for improvement: The stopping technique, remember to check the rear mirror and side mirrors every 3-5 seconds.

the route to a Class 3 driving license Thursday, 28 May 2009
For those who are keen to have a driving license.
There are two ways, either private or school. I prefer private because I have the same instructor throughout my lessons and he can chart my progress. Of course, you can choose your instructor when you are learning in school but you have to pay extra for EACH lesson. Otherwise, you are allocated instructors for every lesson and you MIGHT get confused as different instructors teach different things. Three more advantages for learning in school are: practice papers for your BTT and FTT, you have the priority in using the circuits and booking of Traffic Police (TP) driving test.
The choice is yours.
The driving centres in Singapore are: Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC), Bukit Batok Driving Centre (BBDC), and Comfortdelgro Driving Centre (CDC) or known as Ubi.
Whether you are taking private or school, you need to pass both Basic Driving Test (BTT) and Final Theory Test (FTT) in order to book TP.
If you are taking private, do make sure who is your instructor and which centre he is teaching in.
First: Go to any driving centre and book a Basic Driving Test (BTT). Please bring your Identification Card (IC) and $20 or NETS card. The test is not free and you may want to buy the BTT 'textbook'. The lady or man at the counter will ask if you are taking private or wanting to register/sign up school, just reply, 'private' even if you are uncertain.
Test venue: The driving centre where you booked your test
Test format: 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and 3 to 4 options for each question. Test is computerised i.e. touch screen.
Duration: 50 min
Thing(s) to bring: Identification Card (IC)
Similar to all examination, switch off your pager/mobile phone and keep them in your bag.
Questions are really trivial and logical. Hence, I dont think you need to buy those assessment books or what I called the 'Ten-Year-Series' (TYS). Just a reminder: in any situation, please dont choose the answer with horn(ing), unless the test qn goes something like 'in which situation(s) can you can/cannot horn?'
You get your results upon completion of the test. It is "PASSED" or "FAILED". Efficient huh? If you failed, go to the counter and book another test date. Before that, please reflect how you manage to fail.
Suppose you passed and so on the same day of BTT,
Second: Go to self-service kiosk to print out the result slip
Third:Book the Final Theory Test (FTT) and also get your Provisional Driving License (PDL). Please bring $40 or NETS card (for some reason, they are happier when you use NETS). Both FTT and PDL are not free, and you may want to get your FTT textbook as well. FYI: FTT lasts for 2 years and PDL lasts for 6 months.
For FTT
Test venue: The driving centre where you booked your test
Test format: 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and 3 to 4 options for each question. Test is computerised i.e. touch screen.
Duration: 50 min
Thing(s) to bring: Identification Card (IC)
I recommend you have your practical lessons while preparing for your FTT because you will have a clearer idea what the textbook is describing. The questions are slightly harder than the BTT. But no worries, they are logical as well. I flipped through the textbook the night before and I did a TYS (passed down from Dolly). Of course, I passed. Suppose you passed, so on the same day:
Fourth: Print your FTT result at the self-service kiosk.
Fifth: Book your TP. If your instructor is registered in the same school as you took your tests, then proceed to the counter to register in the school and book TP. If your instructor is not, you have to make a trip to that school for registration and booking. Take I for example. I took all my tests in SSDC because it is nearest to my home. However, my instructor is registered in CDC. So after my FTT, I went to CDC to register in the school and book TP. In either scenerio, to book TP, please bring your IC, PDL, FTT printed result and have your instructor's IC number..
You are now on your way to your Class 3 driving license.
If you are taking through school, just tell the person at the counter and pay accordingly i.e. just bring your NETS card. Everything will be settled =)
